Flowering segment of the plant resemble the tail portion, Vrhschikali, of a scorpion. This weed grows everywhere coarse, succulent to some extent, fetid, herbaceous, naturally seasonal, emollient, vulnerary and diuretic in it’s characteristic constituent. About 60cm in height with densely hirsute ascending branches along with simple, alternate or sub-opposite leaves ovate, abtuse slender or cordate at base but often unequal. Pale blue flowers on two ranked extra axillary, fruits combined in pairs with four ribbed lobes. The flowers are most effectively used in the cases of menstruation related complications. Especially in the cases of AMENORRHOEA. For other problems it will depend on the number of flowers used as the doses. This round the year growing twining or straight woody thin stemmed plant, which produces milky substances when cut, grows throughout the Indian sub-continent, but is not so common. Stems are thick at nodes, purple; leaves opposite, white veined, ovally oblong to linear-lanceolate, villous and silvery white under; flowers greenish purple in the opposite leaf axils; fruits slender one-celled many-seeded has a single carpel and opens along only one suture, cylindrical, about 10cm long, pointed tip, seeds flat and black oblong, blurred silvery white. The roots are dark-brown tubers, blurred silvery-white, repeatedly twisted cracked across and lengthwise splitted bark. It has an effective central vasculature and is pleasantly aromatic. The roots of, this bitter-sweet-astringent flavoured sweet smelling plant is cool in it’s essence and cures and prevents the complications due to pitta.
